Ukrainian Olympiad in Informatics
The Ukrainian Olympiad in Informatics is an annual competition in Informatics held by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The Olympiad was started in 1988 as the Republican Olympiad of the Ukrainian SSR. It was held for the first time in Chernivtsi. In 1992, the Olympiad was renamed.
The Olympics consists of four stages:
I stage (school);
II stage (district);
III stage (regional);
IV stage (national).
Registration for the first stage takes place through the school teacher. In each subsequent stage, the best participants of the previous stage are invited.
The best participants of the final stage of the Olympiad are invited to the Selection Camp for the International Olympiad in Informatics.
The best participants of the final stage, who are not graduates, are invited to the Selection Camp for the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics, which takes place simultaneously with the Camp for the International Olympiad.
The best six participants of the final stage of the Olympiad are invited to the Baltic Olympiad in Informatics.
If the Central European Olympiad takes place before the International Olympiad in Informatics, then the International Olympiad team goes to the Central European Olympiad; otherwise - the national team of the Balkan Olympics.
