From the 12-th to the 18-th of May, the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics was held in Cesenatico, Italy. A total of 248 contestants from 67 countries took part in the olympiad.
The Ukrainian team won one gold medal, two silver medals, and one bronze medal. Ukraine placed fourth in the European team ranking.
Daria Perekopska became the absolute winner of the olympiad, outperforming all 247 other contestants. This is the first time in Ukraine’s history that a representative of the country has achieved such a result at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics.
The goal of this olympiad is to encourage girls to participate in informatics olympiads, as there are very few girls at the International Olympiad in Informatics. Although the olympiad is European, many countries outside Europe are also interested in sending teams to compete in the onsite event in Europe.

The Ukrainian team included:
🥇 Daria Perekopska, an 11th-grade student at the Dnipro Scientific Lyceum of Information Technologies (coach: Valentyn Melnyk), won a gold medal and became the absolute winner of the olympiad;
🥈 Mariia Rapina, a 10th-grade student at Kharkiv Academic Lyceum No. 45 (coaches: Valentyn Melnyk and Mykola Arzubov), won a silver medal;
🥈 Anastasiia Yaremko, an 11th-grade student at the Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum (coach: Valentyn Melnyk), won a silver medal;
🥉 Tetiana Zadniprovska, a 10th-grade student at Lyceum No. 1 named after Volodymyr Krasytskyi of the Khmelnytskyi City Council (coach: Andrii Popyk), won a bronze medal.
