From the 29-th of August to the 4-th of September, the 2025 European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI) was held in Shumen, Bulgaria. The competition brought together 96 participants from 24 countries across Europe and beyond.

The members of the Ukrainian team won four gold medals. In fact, out of seven gold medalists in total, four were Ukrainians. As a result, Ukraine took first place in the team ranking.

The European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI) is an international competition for younger school students. Its main goal is to encourage early interest in IT, to foster competitive software development across Europe, and to recognize the best young talents in the field. Eligible participants are students who have not yet turned 15 by December 31 of the academic year.

The Ukrainian team members underwent a multi-stage selection process to qualify for the national team.

The members of Team Ukraine were:

🥇 Vladyslav Khalin, a 10th-grade student at Kharkiv Lyceum No. 118, ranked 2nd (coach: Valentyn Melnyk);

🥇 Roman Sadovnikov, a 9th-grade student at Dnipro Gymnasium No. 58, ranked 4th (coach: Oleksii Sadovnikov);

🥇 Andrii Kuzma, a 10th-grade student at Uzhhorod Scientific Lyceum, ranked 6th (coach: Serhii Vapnichnyi);

🥇 Vladyslav Vynnyk, a 10th-grade student at Kharkiv Academic Lyceum No. 45, ranked 7th (coach: Mykola Arzubov).

The team leaders were Serhii Zhukovskyi and Kostiantyn Savchuk. The trip was organized by the Ukrainian Federation of Olympiad Programming. The trip was sponsored by Citadel. Anton Tsypko served as a board member and secretary of the Olympiad.
