From the 14-th to 20-th of July, the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) was held in Bonn, Germany. The Olympiad brought together 227 participants from 60 countries.

The goal of this Olympiad is to encourage girls to participate in informatics competitions, as the number of female participants at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) remains extremely low. Although the event is European by name, many non-European countries are eager to send teams to participate in this in-person competition held in Europe.
