From the 27-th of July to the 3-rd of August, 2025, the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025) was held in Sucre, Bolivia. The competition brought together 330 participants from 84 countries.

The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is the most prestigious informatics competition for high school students and takes place annually. It was first held in Bulgaria in 1989. Ukraine has been participating in the Olympiad since 1992. The competition consists of two days of programming and solving algorithmic problems. Teams from each country, formed through national competitions, participate, but the contest itself is conducted on an individual basis.

The Ukrainian team won one silver medal and three bronze medals. The team members were:

🥈 Valerii Kovnatskyi, a graduate of Kharkiv Lyceum "Kharkiv School of Boiko" (coaches: Valentyn Melnyk, Oleksandr Mitsa);

🥉 Illia Shevchenko, an 11th-grade student at Kharkiv Lyceum "Kharkiv School of Boiko" (coaches: Valentyn Melnyk, Oleksandr Mitsa, Mykola Arzubov);

🥉 Stepan Simak, a graduate of Kyiv Educational Center "Optima" (coach: Andrii Popyk);

🥉 Daria Perekopska, an 11th-grade student at the Dnipro Scientific Lyceum of Information Technologies (coach: Valentyn Melnyk).

The team leaders were Anton Tsypko, Valentyn Melnyk, and Yana Cheishvili. The trip was organized by the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Federation of Olympiad Programming. It was funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Citadel.
